Jenkins Nanovic Halls: Chapel of All Saints

“He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly.” (Luke 1)

Our Advent pilgrimage today brings us to the Chapel of All Saints in Jenkins Nanovic Halls, home of the Keough School of Global Affairs.

Today’s reading from the Gospel features this powerful line from Mary’s beautiful Magnificat hymn, a triumphant song of praise to a saving God. God promises to heal a world in need of salvation, and Mary sees this happening in her own life with the arrival of her son. Each of us is a part of the work of bringing Christ’s healing and salvation to a world in need. Here, in the home of the Keough School of Global Affairs, Notre Dame students and professors work to bring Christ’s healing and justice to the world.

As we spend some time in prayer here in the Chapel of All Saints, let us meditate on this text from today’s Scripture and ask ourselves: how are we helping to bring God’s healing and grace to a world that is desperately in need?
