Ryan Hall: Chapel of St. Anne

“Although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.” (Luke 10)

Ryan Hall chapel is dedicated to Saint Anne, the mother of Mary. Mary depended upon her parents to learn to talk, walk, and love God, just like we did as children. Throughout her life, Mary kept this childlike disposition of openness to God.

To remain open to God means remaining attentive to God’s presence in every corner of our lives, and offering our actions as a response to the God who always pours out love on us.

Let us ask ourselves: how are we remaining open and responsive to God’s work in our lives today?

  3. These daily Advent visits to ND’s chapels are marvelously conceived. It was a great privilege as a student always to have the hall chapel at hand, and it’s intriguing to see how some things have remained the same despite the wholesome changes and growth that have taken place on campus over almost seven decades since I graduated. And the few moments of silence after a student has read brief thoughts about the dedication of each particular chapel are especially welcome. A perfect way to start the day. Thank you!

  6. I lived in Ryan all 4 years, and I loved praying in St. Anne’s chapel! Thanks for this chance to pray while making a ‘virtual’ chapel visit!
