As we welcome the birth of Christ this Christmas morning, and our Advent journey draws to a close, we want to thank you for joining us for Sacred Stories of Notre Dame.
Together, we have witnessed 25 profound narratives, powerful testaments to courage, unwavering hope, and the deep, abiding love that sustains us. These stories are more than memories; they enable us to find clarity in chaos, purpose in pain, and embrace the light of faith when the shadows of fear or sadness draw near.

I want to thank you for this series. This year especially, as I fight a most unexpected battle against cancer, I found it particularly uplifting. I absolutely cherish my time at ND, and the friendships I made there and my entire ND experience. I have often struggled in my adult life with the idea that I have not done enough, that I was capable of doing so much more, but didn’t. However, watching this year’s installment of Sacred Stories has helped to dispel those fears by reminding me that God will lead me where He needs me to be and empower me to accomplish His will for me, even if I don’t completely understand what that is. I think it was to Jeremiah that He said, “I have plans for you, for your welfare and not for woe.” Just one of the sayings of the Lord that has helped me through this ordeal. As I was watching the last three weeks of the series today (a hospital stay had interrupted me beginning on December 6), I found myself overwhelmed with fond memories and emotions surrounding my own time at ND—the best years of my life! Just the medicine I needed to get me through this round of chemo and radiation and through my first Christmas alone since I left the Navy. Really brought me some much-needed peace and joy!

Dolly, thank you so much for your series of Sacred Stories. I truly look forward to these every Advent, and I view them first thing in the morning to start my day. They not only make me tear up time after time, but
