Understanding that our worth is not defined by what we accomplish, sophomore political science major Evan Figueroa remembers the moment he entrusted his future to God.
“At that moment, I had never felt so much peace and serenity. The presence of my family and my God put my worries at ease and reminded me of the worth I have, regardless of GPA or acceptance letters. No matter what, I would always have someone who sought out my best interest. In that moment, I truly felt God.”
The days of Advent remind us to slow down and focus on the miracle of divine love. Do we understand that this love begins by acknowledging our intrinsic worth?

I know the peace of which you speak at Notre Dame. I was able to visit campus before deciding to attend, and it was the tremendous sense of peace and feeling that God was watching over me in that place that helped me overcome my own anxieties of being far away from home and of measuring up academically. Though it was not always easy, being at ND was one of the best decisions of my life. Continued growth and blessings to you.
